Managing Windows Firewall

Windows Vista has new and enhanced tools for managing Windows Firewall that make it easier for administrators to manage desktop firewall configuration across an enterprise. These tools include:

  • The new Windows Firewall With Advanced Security snap-in for the MMC console

  • The new Windows Firewall With Advanced Security node in Group Policy

  • The new advfirewall context of the netsh command

  • New COM APIs for programmatically managing Windows Firewall
