Chapter 18: Managing User Accounts and Parental Controls
Configuring Reminders for Parental Controls
By default, when you configure parental controls, you are reminded weekly to read
activity reports. If you want to change the way reminders are used, follow these
steps:
1. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
2. In the Control Panel, click the User Accounts and Family Safety heading and
then click User Accounts.
3. On the User Accounts page, click “Manage another account.”
4. Click “Set up Parental Controls.”
5. In the left panel of the main Parental Controls page, click “Family safety options.”
6. On the Family Safety Options page, shown in Figure 18-21, specify how often
you would like to be reminded to read activity reports. You can specify that you
want to be notified weekly, daily, or never.
7. Click OK.
Configuring Web Restrictions
Web restrictions determine what web sites and what types of content to allow. If
you’ve turned on parental controls, some web restrictions are already enforced auto-
matically. To configure other restrictions or to change how web restrictions are used,
follow these steps:
1. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
2. In the Control Panel, click the User Accounts and Family Safety heading and
then click User Accounts.
