As February winter gradually gave way to the hope of spring in Italy, Mo and Marie played a game of hit and miss. Without a permanent client commitment, Marie was moved around Western Europe to wherever her firm needed her help: one week in Spain, the next in the UK, and then back to Switzerland. On the few weekends when she was available to see Mo, he had been visiting family or had made plans to spend time on the slopes with his college chums. Even texting and calling between the two was sporadic, but they’d eventually connect and spend most of their conversation discussing how much they miss each other.
