EThe Standard-Stage Review

This appendix describes standard-stage reviews and contains examples of the issues that you are likely to encounter in conducting them. These reviews are part of the quarterly project review process described in Appendix D.

Once your teams have passed the initial-stage review, they usually will meet schedules and accurately report project status. The next challenge is for them to consistently deliver quality products. Once schedules are under control, the typical executive’s reaction is to view the software problem as solved and to move on to other more pressing areas. Although you can certainly reduce the time that you devote to software issues, you should not stop doing quarterly project reviews.
