5.1 Introduction

In the preceding chapters the basics and the security aspects in the wireless domain were mostly related to WLAN standards. Although the WLAN is the most important standard in this context, it is by no means the only one in wireless communication. In the following, a communication standard for small distances will be introduced: Bluetooth.

Initially the technical basics, such as protocols and system topologies will be dealt with. Then procedures concerning implementation and configuration will be discussed.
