9. Connecting Devices via Ethernet

Even though we’re talking about wireless networks in this book, not all devices on your network should be connected wirelessly. A wired (Ethernet) connection makes more sense if you want the maximum possible speed, or if you’re networking particularly sensitive data.

What is this Ethernet thing, then, and how does it work? If anything, networking via Ethernet is even easier than connecting via Wi-Fi; in most instances, getting up and running is as simple as connecting an Ethernet cable to your computer or other devices and letting your PC’s operating system do the rest.
