4.1    Introduction

Popular categories of multihop networks include wireless sensor network (WSN), mobile ad hoc network (MANET), wireless mesh network (WMN), and vehicular ad hoc network (VANET). In WSNs, sensor nodes are deployed in the target area to measure specific attributes, such as temperature or pressure, and relay the measured information to a base station for processing.
