I love the definition that I learned many years ago from a telecommunications engineer. In a preworkshop survey I had asked: “Why is being a leader important to you?” The engineer responded that being a leader was not all that important to her. She simply wanted to come to work every day and make the biggest possible difference she could. I won’t lie: I was underwhelmed at first by her response. Then it hit me, like BOOM:
