Front of House (FOH) Engineer: Responsible for mixing the sound that the audience hears at a concert, theatrical play, or musical. This can include choosing mics, dialing in equalization, adding reverb or delay (sometimes to match musical cues), as well as diagnosing problems such as feedback. Also responsible for monitoring safe listening levels (SoundGirls.org).

Monitors/Monitor Engineering: The monitor engineer mixes sound heard by the band on stage. If the drummer needs to hear the guitar in her monitor, she will let the monitor engineer know.
