So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
1. Creating and Saving Documents
Word 2013 is an amazing, powerful program that can meet all your word processing needs, from 1,000+ page dissertations to family newsletters. But at first glance, it might seem intimidating. There are hundreds of features, and although the program is well organized, it is not always obvious where to find them and what they offer.
In this chapter, I explain some of what makes Word 2013 so special—and so different from any other word processing system. You discover the user interface, and you find out how to change the view and access the Help system—essential survival skills for the rest of the book. I also explain how to save your work in various formats and how to open documents.
