Changing Default File Locations
If you always save documents in a specific folder, you can change the default location where documents are saved. You can change the default local folder locations for documents, images, personal templates (that appear on the Start and New screens) (New!), AutoRecover files, Word startup, Office tools, and offline documents on file management servers, such as SharePoint. Word specifies default folder locations based typical places where Microsoft stores things. However, if you want to change them to a location better suited for your needs, you can use the Browse button on the Save pane or the File Locations button on the Advanced pane in Word Options to change them.
