Computer screens today are larger than those doinky, hot-and-heavy, 14-inch CRT monitors from ages back. A modern monitor is nice and roomy, wide as the wild west — but not really that tall.

Despite its ample real estate, the computer screen can never capture the true depth of a Word document. You could orient the monitor vertically, providing you have good neck muscles. Still, your written efforts most likely extend across multiple pages.
