Introducing Blocks
Our main objective in this book is to learn about the new editing experience in WordPress, which was code-named Gutenberg, and find out how to style with a block-based editor. This starts with understanding the concepts of block-based editors. In order to set up the work to be done in this book, we will explore what setup you will need and also how default themes work. We’ll then move on to creating styling that was previously hard to achieve. We do this by discovering design tools. In this chapter, we will cover the following topics:
