10. Getting Fancy with Themes
So you know a little HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and you want to make your theme a little less...generic? This is the chapter for you. We’ll walk you through the process of making some modifications to the default WordPress theme, Kubrick, which features a blue header, a sidebar, and a pretty conventional layout. The areas we’ll be making changes to in this chapter are the header and the sidebar. We’ll also be adding widgets to a theme that isn’t widget enabled, using CSS to make some basic color scheme and font changes to your theme and setting up a favicon, a tiny icon that appears next to a URL in most modern browsers.
