Discipline is the tool that took me from sitting at the end of my high school team’s bench to signing my first professional basketball contract just five years later.
When I first started playing basketball, none of the neighborhood players could explain the process of getting better to me. These players were good, but their development had not been intentional. They just played a lot and improved by default; they couldn’t teach anyone else how they did it. I knew that any skill could be traced back to a process, and I was determined to find that process.
