Over the course of two years, we contacted organizations of every size and type to invite them to participate in our “study to determine the cognitive characteristics of high-performing individuals in business.” We typically sent a detailed invitation to an executive; a department head; a manager; an HR department; or, in many cases, the CEO. We wanted to directly contact the people who could most easily identify high-performing individuals in their department or organization.
