Why a List?

Much of the advice I have offered is spread across several chapters and involves the use of anecdotes.

Therefore, I have built a list of questions that can be used when someone takes ownership of a legacy project, to help identify issues and problem areas. You should try to get these answered as-soon-as-possible. Take the list of questions with you when talking to those who have experience of the system.

In order to de-risk your system you should be especially careful of anything that is unavailable or will take a long time (such as access to hardware).
