A week later, the four men met for the first time. Jim and Don agreed to meet Jack and his boss, George Franklin, in the lobby of their hotel. They exchanged pleasantries before hailing a cab and driving to a restaurant. There they met Jorge.

Jim and the Copper-Bottom leaders shook hands with Jorge. Don gave him a hug. He and Jorge had conversed regularly since Don’s visit almost five years ago.

The meal was good and the company pleasant. At the end of the meal, they said good night to Jorge and agreed to meet at his shop by 7: 30 the following morning.
