Preface

The title of this book is Workplace Jazz.

In these pages, I hope to raise a battle cry for individual and corporate responsibility in building cultures that are both healthier and more productive for those working in them.

First, a definition: a healthier and more productive culture is a culture that attracts, inspires, and retains great people. It also builds brand ambassadors among team members and customers. People who work for the company or buy from it admire the company and love to talk about it and its products.

I have chosen the words “Workplace Jazz” very carefully and for a reason: most companies now are having to compete in an environment where technology skills, computer skills, project management skills, and technology leadership ...
