SAMPLE OUTLINE FOR DRAMA

Drama shows are written single-cam, film-style (see Chapter 9). The same rules apply in writing one-hour drama outlines and scripts as those in single-cam sitcoms.

Below you will find Act One of an outline for a drama script called, Abducted. It is written by the talented Kyle Scarselli, a former student in my Writing Television Pilots class at Emerson College. Kyle’s pilot is about a teenage girl who vanishes in a mysterious fire. It then becomes up to the girl’s friends and family, and a fireman with a curious past to uncover the truth behind her disappearance. Abducted is reprinted with Kyle’s permission.
