In 1999, I started my career as a scriptwriter, and ever since then I’ve tried to stay true to the credo, “Whatever the question, the answer is yes.” I first worked as a staff writer for a comedy series that was broadcast on the VRT, the public broadcasting network in Flanders, Belgium. Soon after, the same network asked me to participate in developing a new comedy show. Although the wages were poor, I said, “yes.” We worked for more than a year, but the series was never produced.
