The remaining 23 modules defined here are optional. They might be added in any combination as desired to the Core Modules set to create XHTML Family conformant document types.

It should be noted that the Applet module, though provided by the W3C to describe behavior of these elements, has been deprecated.
The Applet Module provides a means for referencing and accessing external applications. When this module is present in a document type definition, the Inline content set is modified to include the applet element:
