One of the most delightful aspects of XHTML is that you can begin using it immediately with near perfect results. The well-formedness and validity requirements of XHTML, when followed, create highly interoperable documents that can be viewed on nearly any devices that accesses the Web.
You might have noticed that I said "near perfect" results. In the transition between HTML and XML, there are several areas that deserve special attention from authors. The W3C has outlined these for us in the XHTML 1.0 Recommendation, and we'll be reviewing each of them here.
