It's a bit early in the development of XHTML for authoring tools to directly support output as XHTML. However, there are utilities available that can aid in the conversion of HTML to XHTML, or simply to error check and polish up XHTML files written by hand or HTML-based authoring tools. Three such utilities incorporating the same base program are featured here.
