Future-use analysis
A major reason for adopting XML is the possibilities it offers for information reuse. Analysis should therefore not end at describing current practice, unless it is certain that the data will never be put to any new purposes.
The advent of electronic publishing has been a major factor in popularizing the generalized markup approach. Analysis must therefore include looking ahead to the features offered by these new publishing media, and to possibilities for niche publications derived from subsets of the data.
