Aural styles

CSS2 includes a large number of properties to assist with the audible presentation of material. Speech presentation is important, not just to those who are visually disabled, but to anyone who is not able to switch their visual attention from some other task, such as driving.

Speech and spelling-out

The 'speak' property is used to render text audibly when given the value 'normal' (the default), or 'spell-out'. The 'spell-out' option is used to pronounce text such as CSS, by spelling out each letter, 'C', 'S', 'S'. A value of 'none' indicates no audible presentation of the content.
