ISO 8859/1 character set
The character set describing European letters, numbers and symbols. This character set is used by HTML, and forms the basis of Microsoft Windows fonts (although reserved places are filled with extra characters in the Windows version) and UNIX fonts (for example, Open Windows). The first 128 characters are derived from the ISO/IEC 646 version of ASCII. The remaining 128 characters cover European accented characters, and further common symbols. The official ISO name for each character is placed in brackets, for example 'Solidus (slash)'.
