Personal Web Server (PWS) and Active Server Pages (ASP)
Before you start working through the examples in this chapter, you will need access to an ASP-compliant browser. If you're running under Windows, this will mean loading Personal Web Server (PWS) onto your computer. This is freely available from Microsoft and will allow you to develop and test Web pages from your own desktop.
If you're using another operating system, such as UNIX or a Linux-based system, or you're operating a non-Windows NT server, there are technologies available that will allow you to leverage the power of ASP on these systems.
