VoxML Basics

VoxML is an XML vocabulary created by Motorola to facilitate the development of interactive speech applications. It's an interesting XML vocabulary in that it is used to drive interactive voice applications that, in the past, would have involved relatively complex scripting. With VoxML, it is possible to create powerful voice applications that can query the user for information and respond dynamically. One of the key benefits of VoxML is that it is simple enough to allow a surprisingly short development cycle for most applications. Add that to the fact that it is implemented in a highly structured and easily customized metalanguage in XML, and you have a powerful new approach to building voice applications.
