It’s 12:45 p.m. Paul hands the menus back to the waiter.

“So, do you think you can do it by then?” Miguel, the older executive asks. Paul is about to respond positively when the memory of an earlier project flashes into his mind. That client had asked for a tight time line, too. In the rush, Paul didn’t find out what the client really needed, and ended up delivering late and over budget. Paul feels the frustration of that experience come to mind, as if he were right back there again. He doesn’t want to let this emotion show.
