Chapter 15. Create Your Plan

Congratulations! You deserve a pat on the back. You now have an inventory of your digital assets, complete with your instructions and wishes. That’s an undertaking in itself.

In fact, that work was essential, but now you need to ensure that your inventory and instructions are carried out. Since you won’t be there to push the buttons, you’ll need a person or service to do it for you. And for that, you need a plan. Your plan will have four basic parts:

  1. Storage—a place to keep your inventory and instructions
  2. Trigger—an event that releases your plan from storage
  3. Digital executor—a person or service to distribute or delete your assets
  4. Heirs—the people who receive your assets
