When I reflect back on the various ways I have helped clients to get their next promotion, I realise there was an underlying pattern emerging and a promotion formula that could apply to any situation. It was always a mixture of big picture, long-term strategy and short-term tactics. Although already successful and senior, my clients presented with a feeling of having lost their way, and a sense that they were stuck in a rut or in danger of plateauing at their current role level, while not yet having fulfilled their leadership potential.
