Master the exam domains and leave with a personal study plan

What you’ll learn and how you can apply it

  • Decode the CCAO-F exam blueprint
  • Structure and iterate prompts the way the exam expects
  • Evaluate and validate Claude’s outputs
  • Select the right product features and models
  • Configure Claude Projects for knowledge management
  • Apply governance and responsible-use judgment.

Course description

In this hands-on two-hour course with Lucas Soares, you’ll build a complete preparation strategy for the Claude Certified Associate – Foundations exam, organized around the official exam blueprint. You’ll start with the exam mechanics—format, scoring, and the seven domains with their exact weights so you know precisely where your study time pays off. Then you’ll work hands-on through the highest-weight domains: structuring and iterating prompts, evaluating and validating Claude’s outputs for hallucinations and bias, selecting the right product features and models, and configuring Claude Projects with instructions, knowledge sources, and connectors. Along the way you’ll answer live practice questions covering workflow design, governance, and troubleshooting scenarios. By the end of the course, you’ll have hands-on experience with every skill area the exam tests, a domain-by-domain self-assessment of your readiness, and a concrete four-week study plan built from the official prep resources.

This live event is for you because...

  • You’re an operations, marketing, project management, education, or communications professional who uses Claude daily and wants the credential that validates it.
  • You’re a consultant, seller, or delivery lead who guides customers toward the right Claude use cases.
  • You’re a manager who’s rolling out Claude across a team and wants a structured, blueprint-based way to build and certify baseline competence.

Prerequisites

  • Regular, hands-on experience using Claude in a professional setting (the exam’s own recommended experience—no coding or API knowledge required)
  • Familiarity with basic Claude features such as chat, file uploads, and ideally Projects and artifacts
  • A practical awareness of AI limitations—hallucinations, context constraints, data sensitivity

Recommended preparation:

  • Create a Claude account (free tier works but Pro is recommended so you can create Projects and switch models during the exercises)
  • Download the official Claude Certified Associate – Foundations Exam Guide (v1.0, July 2026) from the Anthropic Partner Academy and skim sections 5–6 (exam details and blueprint) (Optional) Enroll in Anthropic’s free eight-course prep path on the Partner Academy (Claude Certified Associate - Foundations Prep Course)
  • Clone/download the course repo (link shared before the session)

Schedule

The time frames are only estimates and may vary according to how the class is progressing.

The exam, the platform, and model selection (25 minutes)

  • Presentation: The Claude Certification Program and the CCAO-F exam; the four credentials (Associate, Developer, Architect Foundations, Architect Professional) and where the Associate exam fits; who the “minimally qualified candidate” is per the official guide; exam mechanics; the seven-domain blueprint and weights; Domain 3—Product and Model Selection; choosing between chat, Projects, research mode, and artifacts for a given task; differentiating Haiku-, Sonnet-, and Opus-class models on cost, speed, and quality; context limitations and memory; when to restart, summarize, or persist a conversation
  • Hands-on exercise: Answer exam-style question on model selection
  • Q&A

Prompting and output validation—35% of the exam (35 minutes)

  • Presentation: Domain 1—Prompting and Task Execution; repeatable prompt structure (role, context, task, format, constraints); task decomposition for complex requests; adapting strategy across the exam’s four named task types (analysis, research, drafting, brainstorming); Domain 2—Output Evaluation and Validation; spotting hallucinations, inconsistencies, and bias; why self-reported confidence is not an accuracy signal; choosing output formats (artifacts versus inline versus structured data)
  • Hands-on exercises: Build and iterate a structured prompt; take a messy real-world request (quarterly report synthesis), decompose it, and iterate the prompt three times measuring output improvement; validate a flawed output
  • Q&A
  • Break

Workflows, Projects, and knowledge management (30 minutes)

  • Presentation: Domain 4—Workflow Integration and Solution Design; which steps to delegate to the model, which to keep human; communicating Claude’s value and limitations to stakeholders; the consultant-facing objectives the exam tests
  • Hands-on exercises: Domain 5—Configure a Claude Project; create a Project, write system-level instructions, and upload knowledge sources from the course repo; explore connectors (Google Drive, Gmail); test the configuration—same prompt with and without project knowledge; compare outputs; answer practice question on workflow integration
  • Q&A

Governance, troubleshooting, and exam strategy (20 minutes)

  • Presentation: Domain 6—Governance, Risk, and Responsible Use; data sensitivity, regulatory, and privacy reasoning; anonymizing regulated personal data before upload; appropriate versus inappropriate use cases and when to escalate to Claude developers/architects; Domain 7—Troubleshooting and Optimization; a diagnosis checklist for underperforming outputs; exam-day strategy; how to approach multiple-response items; time budgeting; retake policy
  • Q&A

Your four-week study plan (10 minutes)

  • Presentation: A take-home study framework—the domain-by-domain self-assessment checklist scored against the blueprint weights, mapped to Anthropic's free eight-course prep path and the official exam guide’s sample questions; registration walkthrough; cancellation and reschedule rules
  • Q&A
