Detect issues in code and fix vulnerabilities

Course outcomes

  • Detect errors, faults, and vulnerabilities lurking in code
  • Quickly analyze code written by other developers to find potential issues
  • Identify and fix code to make it more resilient and fault-tolerant
  • Detect security issues sooner and apply automatic fixes

Course description

Spending countless hours poring over code is not the most effective use of a software developer or engineer’s time, and thanks to new AI tools, you can accelerate the task of error detection (even errors you may not have thought about) and use tools and techniques to automatically fix the code. Instead of toiling over the code, you can work more efficiently and deliver more value to your business.

Join expert Venkat Subramaniam to explore how to use AI tools to detect issues in code and see examples of such issues in real-world code. You’ll understand how to use these tools to fix code issues, look for issues related to improper change of data, detect data inconsistencies arising from improper change sequences, and detect security vulnerabilities lurking in code.

What you’ll learn and how you can apply it

  • Use AI tools to reason about code
  • Detect potential issues in code
  • Make code resilient and fault-tolerant quickly
  • Identify and fix security issues in code
  • Reduce technical debt in code

This live event is for you because...

  • You’re a software developer/engineer or senior software developer/engineer.
  • You work closely with code.
  • You want to learn to use AI tools effectively to improve your code.

Prerequisites

  • Good experience with programming (Java projects are used in the examples and some knowledge of Java is helpful)

Recommended preparation:

  • Access to a generative AI tool; more information to come (optional to complete exercises)

Recommended follow-up:
