Jon began his career in telecom network administration, and has built and run networks, back-end systems, and data centers for companies throughout the world for use cases ranging from high-speed open air laser systems, to vehicle video and telemetry capture, and video marketing.

Jon started using Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2006, and is certified by Amazon to present the entire official AWS training curriculum; he is also a certified Google instructor. In addition to building cloud systems on AWS, Jon has also done so using Google Cloud, Rackspace, and private hybrid networks.

Jon presents official AWS training through Global Knowledge, Amazon's training partner, and presents AWS training to customers throughout the United States. Jon also runs Nube de Helado Software, Inc., a cloud consulting company that specializes in training people how to use the AWS and Google cloud offerings, and in helping companies move their operations to the cloud.

Jon holds all (5) current AWS certifications including AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional), and AWS Certified DevOps Engineer (Professional). He is also a Google Qualified Developer in App Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and Compute Engine. He earned an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a BS from the University of California, Berkeley.
