Marshall T. Rose is the prime mover of the BEEP Protocol. In his former position as the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) area director for network management, he was one of a dozen individuals who oversaw the Internet's standardization process. Rose was responsible for the design, specification, and implementation of several Internet-standard technologies, and wrote more than 60 of the Internet's requests for comment (RFCs).
