The new Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) demonstrates that an individual is able to ensure the ethical and responsible development and management of AI systems. The course is structured in alignment with the official AIGP body of knowledge and is designed as a review course for the certification exam. The course also includes a module that describes the process of studying for the exam, taking the exam, maintaining the certification, and putting the certification to good use.
What you’ll learn and how to apply it
By the end of this course, the learner will understand all the knowledge required of AIGP certification candidates. They will begin with an overview of the certification process and build a solid foundation in AI and machine learning concepts, including common technologies and system types.
Learners aiming to manage or govern AI will gain insights into the risks of ungoverned AI, principles of ethical and trustworthy systems, and key regulations such as the EU AI Act. They will explore risk management frameworks and learn how to oversee the AI system lifecycle—from planning and development to deployment and ongoing management.
Those working with security leaders will gain valuable context for effective collaboration, and all learners will be introduced to current concerns and emerging trends in AI governance.
