Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700) Certification Course: Designing and Implementing Azure Networking Solutions
with Kirk Whetton
Overview
Networking knowledge and experience is increasingly valuable in today’s IT industry, and these skills are among the most challenging to develop. Professionals who can specialize in cloud networking and in particular, with Microsoft Azure networking solutions, are indispensable when it comes to working with complex cloud systems and large-scale, distributed applications. For that reason, getting certified as an Azure Network Engineer is a great career choice for anyone working in the cloud. But the path to certification is not easy, as one of the toughest Associate-level certification exams available in Microsoft Azure.
This course aims to guide you through the measured skills you’ll need in order to pass the exam and confidently design and implement your own networking solutions in Microsoft Azure. You’ll learn about Azure’s core network infrastructure, how to manage hybrid connectivity, security best practices, and how to use automation tools such as PowerShell and the Azure CLI. Expert instructor Kirk Whetton will guide you through the exam domains and how to prepare to take the test, drilling you with practice questions and knowledge-checks along the way so that you’ll be one step closer to earning the coveted AZ-700 certification!
What you’ll learn and how to apply it
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Design and implement core networking infrastructure in Azure, including virtual networks, subnets, IP addressing, VNet peering, Azure DNS, Azure Bastion, and network security through Azure Firewall, Network Security Groups (NSGs), and Application Security Groups (ASGs).
- Integrate and secure hybrid networks by configuring and managing site-to-site and point-to-site VPN connections, implementing ExpressRoute, configuring routing between on-premises networks and Azure, and securing hybrid connections using VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, and Azure virtual WAN.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance using Azure Network Watcher, analyze and optimize network performance with metrics and logs, and implement Azure Traffic Manager and Azure Front Door for load balancing and high availability.
- Be familiar with each of the domains covered by the AZ-700 certification and will know what is required of them to take and pass the exam.
This course is for you because
- You are a cloud engineer or architect looking to advance your networking skills.
- You are a networking professional looking to specialize in cloud and Microsoft Azure networking solutions.
- You are an IT professional with experience in AWS or GCP networking who wants to certify your knowledge in Microsoft Azure to better meet the needs of the multi-cloud era.
Prerequisites
- Basic understanding of networking fundamentals, such as name resolution, network protocols, and network address management
- Some familiarity with Microsoft Azure or certification in Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) is helpful, but not required
