About the Instructor

Frank Dagenhardt, CCIE No. 42081, is a Systems Engineer for Cisco focusing primarily on Data Center architectures in Commercial Select accounts. Frank has over 19 years in Information Technology and has held certifications from HP, Microsoft, Citrix, and Cisco. A Cisco veteran of over 8 years, he works with customers daily where he designs, implements, and supports end-to-end architectures and solutions such as workload mobility, business continuity, and cloud / orchestration services. In the recent months he has been focusing on Tier 1 applications, including but not limited to VDI, Oracle and SAP. He recently presented on the topic of UCS / VDI at Cisco Live 2013. When not thinking about Data Center topics, Frank can be found backpacking, kayaking, or at home with his family.

Course Requirements

This LiveLessons course assumes that the viewer has the skills to navigate the user interface of a PC running any of the Microsoft operating systems, and that the viewer has completed typical high school level math courses (mainly that they have been exposed to binary math). The book also assumes that they have used PCs connected to either a home network or a network inside a school or company, but that the viewer may not understand anything about the network to which the PC was connected. It is also assumed that the viewer knows how to use typical Internet applications, primarily web browsers and email clients.
