Imagine you are watching TV and a fly comes through the window and lands on your TV screen. Will you still be able to follow what was being presented or will all your attention go to that annoying fly? Now what if I told you that the problem is even worse -- you are incapable of swatting the fly away and must endure its presence on-screen for the entirety of the show you are watching. Now, is it it possible to forget about the fly and pay attention to the show? The answer is a resounding no.

This is the exact same problem that almost all of the videos in this series suffer from. In this case it is not a fly but a black cursor sitting on the screen when the slides are shown to the video viewing audience. This is not the fault of either presenter. Both Neal Ford or Mark Richards are smart enough to keep the cursor off-screen for the slides they project onto a screen behind them, but those are not the slides shown in close-up to the audience watching the video, like myself. Those close-up slides intermingled during the sessions prominently feature an annoying black cursor.

What kind of moron does not notice this? The guy or gal should get a good slap in the face and be told to redo all the videos. Fortunately, no video reshoots are necessary. All that needs to be fixed can be done in editing with the speaker's audio overlayed during the slide close-ups.

I highly urge O'Reilly to reissue the videos with this flaw fixed. The otherwise positive feedback I would like to post on the product page to encourage others to make the same purchase as I did is greatly overshadowed by this serious technical glitch.

I will hold off for a few days on posting any kind of negative feedback on the product page so you have a chance to respond and address this issue. Just don't make me wait too long.

a few of the chapters, but also in video 9

In the video, there are several occurrences suggesting that The Design Patterns book by the Gang of Four was published in 1984. There's even a history timeline / graph in video 9 illustrating that the book was published in 1984 due to the introduction of C++.

The book was published in 1994. Not before.
