Bottom image of people playing tug of war on back cover

The image of the six people playing tug of war on the back cover is missing a label. The far right guy needs the word "Resources" under him in the same font as "Quality" and "Risk".

Under "Book Description"

Under the "Book Description", the below is mentioned, Get 100% coverage of the latest principles and certification objectives in The PMBOK Guide, Fifth Edition However the cover of the book mentions 4th Edition Covers PMBOK Guide, 6th Edition In the description, the correction should be made for referencing the right PMBOK edition.

Note from the Author or Editor:
This needs to be fixed. The 4th edition of Head First PMP is definitely based on the Sixth edition of the PMBOK® Guide, not the Fifth. Let's make sure the Safari description, O'Reilly catalog page, and Amazon page are updated to say "Sixth edition of the PMBOK® Guide" (and let's make sure we include the ® symbol – PMI folks take that very seriously).

First question

The answers on page 669 have a copy/paste error that caused the wrong sentence to be included for question #1. The correct sentence should match the sentence in the question on page 667: "1. Kate and her company’s legal team sit down with the sellers and work out the terms of the contract. There’s a lot of back and forth, but they settle on an agreement that everyone is comfortable with."

First paragraph, second sentence

Page 712 has this sentence “The outputs from Control Stakeholder Engagement are all about making changes to the documents you’ve been using to keep them engaged all along.” The words "Control Stakeholder Engagement are in boldface. The word "Control" should be changed to "Monitor".

Question 14

Question 14 at the end of chapter 6 includes the process "Estimate Activity Resources" in each of the answers. This process was eliminated in the 6th edition of the PMBOK® Guide, so the words "Estimate Activity Resources," should be deleted from answers A, B, C, and D. And in the answer on page 346, this sentence: "You need to define your activities before you can sequence them, you need to know who’s going to be doing an activity before you can estimate how long it’s going to take, and you need to do all of that before you can build a schedule!" should be replaced with this sentence: "You need to figure out your planning procedures before you can define your activities, you need to define your activities before you can sequence them, and you need to do all of that before you can build a schedule!"

Table of Content - Summary

I have gone through your PDF copy and I can see there is page number mismatch as well on page # IX (Table of Contents (Summary)) with actual Chapter Page # for all chapters. Chapter # 6 Title as 'Time Management' and actual Page # of the Title is 'Schedule Management' .

Note from the Author or Editor:
Fixed chapter 6 title in the front matter

1st paragraph

For PMBOK V6, the LESSONS LEARNED REGISTER is created on an ongoing basis in the Manage Project Knowledge process, NOT in the Close Project or Phase process. In Close Project or Phase, the Lessons Learned Register is an INPUT. Here the PM exports the Lessons Learned Register into the organization's LESSONS LEARNED REPOSITORY, where it joins the Lessons Learned Registers from the company's other projects as part of the company's OPAs for reference on future projects.

Middle of page

In the middle of page 500 of the printed book, it mentions the five kinds of power. Yet there are only four listed; legitimate, reward, expert, and referent. You dropped punishment from the 3rd edition. Correct the sub-title. While the book says there are 'five/four' that are typically used, consider changing this to convey the 14 powers listed in the PMBOK(r) Guide on page 63.

Note from the Author or Editor:
corrected the language to talk about the most important kinds of power.

The book says that here is not an Risk Management process for the Executing phase, this is incorrect. Implement Risk Responses is a Risk Management process that was recently added to the Executing phase. Rita Mulcahy’s PMP Exam prep 9th Edition, confirms the addition of Implement a Risk Responses to the Executing phase on pages 476-477.

The 9th bullet point

The sentence "All of the processes in Risk Management are Planning or Monitoring and Controlling processes. There are no Executing processes here." This statement is invalid for the latest PMBOK (6th edition). It is because the "Implement Risk Responses" has been added to executing process group.

Note from the Author or Editor:
updated the language in the bullet points.

Instead of "Time Questions" should say "Schedule Questions" because Time Management was the knowledge area name in V5 but "Schedule Management is the name in V6. (same with Human Resource should be Resource on P. 753, I'll add a separate errata note for that one)
