Printed | Page 135 last paragraph |
The process described in the last two sentences is incomplete, as the document would still have Roman numerals in the introduction and Arabic numerals afterwards. The writer would also need to change the format of the page numbers in the introduction to Arabic numerals, using the Format Page Number button that relates to footers in the first section of the paper. |
Anonymous | ||
Printed | Page 143 last bullet and caption to figure 4-4 |
The text refers to the Formatting Palette, which is not shown in figure 4-4. Rather, the figure shows the Modify Style dialog box, which you get when you click on the little triangle and then select Modify Style from the pop-up menu.. Readers should also be told that the little triangle next to a style's name does not appear until you hover the cursor over the style name in the Formatting Palette. |
Anonymous | ||
Printed | Page 144 first bullet |
This description is incorrect. It should read "Choose Format-->Style; cllick the style's name in the Style [note singular, not plural as in current text] box; click Modify (or press <command symbol>-M); and use the Modify Style dialog box to make your changes, as described on the previous page." |

Anonymous | ||
Printed | Page 169 Figure 4-20 |
This figure does not agree with the adjacent text. The text talks about setting size, alignment and text wrapping, but the figure is all about borders and shading, which were covered on pages 166-167. Also, the caption for this figure starts with an incomplete sentence ("The Table Properties"). |

This text is confusing. Since it is under a heading that refers to the Create pop-up button, the reader would obviously think that the statement "As you can see from the pop-up button" refers to the Create button. In fact, it refers to the "Get Data" button. Change the text to read "As you can see from the Get Data pop-up button, Word comes ready ..." |
