The errata list is a list of errors and their corrections that were found after the product was released.

The following errata were submitted by our customers and have not yet been approved or disproved by the author or editor. They solely represent the opinion of the customer.

Windows Firewall bullet:

"By default, the firewalls are not enabled on server installations."

Both private and public firewalls are enabled on a default installation; however; they are not set to block any incoming connections, nor are they set to notify when a new app is blocked.

"Also, keep in mind that all changes to the functional level are one-way and cannot be reversed."

Windows 2008 R2 introduced a way to reverse from Windows 2008R2 levels to Windows 2008 levels when certain features aren't enabled. This reversal is still possible in Windows Server 2012 and later that meet the same criteria.

Memberships in either the built-in Administrators group or the Account Operators group is not required to join a computer to a domain.

The "Entries In The BCD Store On A Single-Boot Computer" screenshot shows the output when bcdedit is run from the CLI. Below that, Table 3-3 BCD entry properties details the properties and descriptions of that output; however, it contains items that aren't included in the output (for example, FileDevice and FilePath). These items can be seen when bcdedit /enum all is run from the CLI.

For the Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard and Datacenter licensing, the book lists that 64 physical processors are supported, whereas the examples given in those paragraphs suggest that only two physical processors are supported per license.
