Practice Test

I've purchased the Microsoft Press "Enterprise Administrator" training kit, which comes with the MeasureUp practice tests for 70-640, -642, -643, and -647. I've been trying to use the practice tests to study, but have been having trouble with it. When I get an answer correct, it gives me an explanation and references to the books that come in the training kit. Unfortunately, it appears that the references are completely wrong, and entirely useless to me. For example, right now I just started working on -643. The very first question on the practice test is "You are a systems administrator who is responsible for managing the configuration of a Windows Server 2008 Web server. The server currently hosts five Web sites, each of which includes at least two Web applications. A Web developer has requested that you make several changes to the configuration of the Web server to improve performance and to resolve various authentication issues. You have verified that the site content has been backed up properly. You would like to be able to restore the IIS configuration quickly if the changes need to be reversed. Which of the following methods should you use to achieve this goal?". The explanation that it gives is correct, and it has the question listed as being geared towards exam objective "Configuring a Web Services Infrastructure" and sub-objective "Manage Internet Information Services (IIS).", which appears to be correct. However it than gives a reference for Chapter 2, Lesson 2 of the textbook. Unfortunately Ch2/L2 of the textbook has nothing to do with the question, or those objectives at all. It's all about Server Clusters, while the relevant information is found in Chapter 5, Lesson 2 of the textbook. I've encountered the same issue fairly consistently with courses 640 and 642 already (which I've now completed) and don't look forward to having to constantly double-check the references for every question in this course (and 647) as well. Is there any possibility that you've released a patch for the software that updates all the references to the correct values? I haven't been able to find one on your website, but I'm hoping it's just hidden somewhere. Please let me know if there is something like that available. Or even just a translation table to show where the information moved from/to would be useful (so I'd know that every reference to 2-2 actually meant 5-2, for example). Thanks.

I came to your website because it should have listed any erratas from the "MCITP Self-Paced Training Kit (Exams 70-640, 70-642, 70-643, 70-647): Windows Server® 2008 Enterprise Administrator Core Requirements" kit. However, the website stated that there were no known and/or reported erratas. I was a bit confused because I had already found some during my training but had now stumped on one where I wasn't 100% sure.

After performing some "Googling", I found all the erratas for the 70-640 book, included in this kit, and I found the answer to errata on page 882, lesson 1, question 3. I also found all the erratas I had already ran into. I am fairly sure there will be additional erratas in the other books in this kit, but I won't know that until I go through them.

The list of erratas I found, can be viewed at Microsoft's website at:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/955243/en-ca

My question is, "Why doesn't you site list the erratas although there are many?"

Exercise 3 step 3

I cannot get past this point in the server core installation.
I'm running Windows Server Core 2008 R2 and when I run this command (the corrected one) I keep getting the error:
"The Active Directory Domain Services Installation Wizard is not supported on this SKU"
Researched everywhere and cannot find a fix - quite frustrating to get stuck so early on.

Other Digital Version 100
on CD for 70-640

Like the previous errata submitted by someone else, i have run into some problems with the MeasureUp Exam CD's for this training kit. I just got the kit last week and i'm working on 70-640. I'm noticing a few of the practice questions refer to the wrong chapter/lesson for more information. an example of this(without getting too specific) is a question on DNS configuration for Active Directory. The Reference for more information is Chapter 3, Lesson 3 of the book.

The only problem is Chapter 3, Lesson 3 deals with Managing user accounts in Active Directory - nothing to do with DNS configuration whatsoever.

Another example is that there are multiple copies of the same question ( group policy question) word for word, but the answers are different for each version of the question.

i saw the Microsoft errata for the 70-640 book which is helpful, but has no mention of the errors on the test disk.

PS the page number's fake, i had to put in something to post this!

For exercises 2 and 3 to work, also need to edit/enter "msDS-PSO applies to" <not set>
to "Domain Admins" group.

First full paragraph

Regarding the paragraph beginning "When the AD DS process creates a domain tree..."
Suggest a rewrite to clarify definitions of a domain, vs. domain tree.
To clarify, I used the OS/DNS help description.

70-640, Chapter 13, lesson 1, page 647.
Step 10 states the command to enter is;
wbadmin start systemstaterecovery...

but, in the subsequent example
wbadmin start sysrecovery...

So...which is correct?

First paragraph

The answer to question 2 from Chapter 6 Lesson 1 is exactly the same as for question 1 although it is a completly different question. The answers have nothing to do with the question
