reads:

"For example, if the first byte sent was numbered 1 and 2,000
bytes have been successfully received, the Acknowledgment
Number would be 2000."

It should read:

"For example, if the first byte sent was numbered 1 and 2,000
bytes have been successfully received, the Acknowledgment Number
would be 2001."

Figure C-10 reads:

"Acknowlegment Number 2000
Acknowlegment Number 4000"

Should read:

"Acknowlegment Number 2001
Acknowlegment Number 4001"

Note: I believe this information was pulled from "TCP/IP Network
Administration" (first edition). The Craig Hunt, author of "TCP/IP...",
noted that there were some errors about this in the first edition. He
consequently corrected this information for the second edition of "TCP/IP..."
and it was never updated it in "Building Internet Firewalls" (See "TCP/IP
Network Administration, pg 21)
