Different types of measurement are parts of our life and, to a large extent, they have a consistency. The measurement of time and temperature remains the same regardless of country and circumstances. Time raises some issues when we are making international comparisons because of the shape of the world. It may be 8.00 a.m. in Australia but different in the United Kingdom and the United States. There are also differences because some countries insist on certain dates in the year to “put the clocks back/forward” for an hour. Somewhat annoying, but we have learnt to live with it.
