6.1 Worldwide Variability in Emissions Regulations
Chapter 5 discussed the emissions regulations that apply to the global farm machinery industry. While European Union (EU), U.S. EPA, and Canadian EPA regulations are virtually identical (with the exception of EU laws being applied sooner), most of the rest of the world has not adopted the laws. The laws themselves, plus the variability across different markets in which farm machinery manufacturers compete, has presented both challenges and opportunities for the manufacturers.
