It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Packet filtering and traffic manipulation are among the most basic tools in network security. OpenBSD includes a very powerful in-kernel packet filter, pf(4), or PF. This tool not only performs standard filtering, but it can also inspect, reassemble, redirect, and otherwise abuse packets in several ways; translate addresses in several different directions simultaneously; authenticate users; and manage bandwidth.
