Chapter 8. Managing Trusts and Authentication

A trust relationship is a link between two domains in which the trusting domain honors the logon authentication of a trusted domain. Trust relationships can be created manually (explicitly) or automatically (implicitly). Whereas trust relationships created manually need to be managed, trust relationships created automatically do not need to be managed. Both types of trust relationships, however, should be monitored and, as necessary, optimized.
