Using Group Policies to Configure Windows Installer
Because most of the applications that you will install using group policies use the Windows Installer technology, you might also need to configure how Windows Installer applications are installed. Windows Server 2003 Active Directory provides several options for configuring how Windows Installer applications will be installed. Most of these settings can be configured by opening a GPO in Group Policy Object Editor and expanding Computer Configuration, then Administrative Templates, then Windows Components, and then Windows Installer.
